PSG Defeats Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure Trophee des Champions Season-Opening Trophy in Kuwait.

The Parisian club has now won the season-opening cup on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match featuring the French league champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.

However, Marseille fired twice in the closing moments to seize a shock advantage. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a vital equaliser in the final seconds to force the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the hero, saving crucial kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a 4-1 shootout win.

The record champions PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past thirteen years.
